Police rescue deer with antlers caught in soccer net

Sept. 27 (UPI) — Police in Ohio came to the rescue of a deer whose antlers became entangled in a soccer net and ran off with the sporting equipment in tow.

West Chester Township posted a photo to Facebook showing the deer with the soccer net and its collapsed frame caught on its antlers.

“West Chester Police do it all! WCPD recently rescued a deer with its head caught in a soccer goal near the Beckett Ridge neighborhood,” the post said.

Police had to chase down the animal to free it from the net.

“The frightened deer ran away multiple times, but officers never gave up. Working together, the officers followed the animal until they were able to get close enough to free it,” the Facebook post said.
