Ramin Bahrani to direct ‘Fahrenheit 451’

LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) — HBO has enlisted filmmaker Ramin Bahrani to write and direct a film adaption of Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451.

The 99 Homes and At Any Price director will revisit the classic dystopian story almost 50 years since director Francois Truffaut brought it to the big screen in 1966.

Fahrenheit 451 follows a fireman named Guy Montag, whose job it is to start fires instead of stop them thanks to an oppressive regime banning books and those who harbor them. A series of events causes Montag to rebel against the limiting society to become an unlikely champion of freedom.

HBO has not yet announced the expected release date for the project, produced by Bahrani, Alan Gasmer and Peter Jysen.
