WASHINGTON, April 16 (UPI) — Daredevil actress Rosario Dawson was arrested at a peaceful protest Friday in Washington, D.C.

Dawson, 36, was fine $50 and processed on site for crowding, obstructing or incommoding after crossing police lines during the Democracy Spring rally, Entertainment Tonight reported.

“This is a tremendous issue and I’m really grateful that I could be here and be a part of it,” the vocal Bernie Sanders supporter told journalists after her arrest. “I wanted for me, personally, to be in solidarity with the people who put themselves on the line.”

The rally was intended to “end the corruption of big money in our politics,” Democracy Spring’s website said.

“Sit in, sit down, stand up… Whatever it takes!” the actress tweeted Friday.
