Rubber bullets fired at protesters in S.Africa: TV footage

Johannesburg (AFP) – South African police fired rubber bullets to break up protesters in North West province on Friday, television footage showed, shortly before President Cyril Ramaphosa was due to arrive to address an outbreak of rioting.

Police opened fire to scatter dozens of protesters who had gathered on a dirt road in Mahikeng, the provincial capital, live footage from the ENCA television channel showed.
