S. Korean prosecutors summon ex-president Lee Myung-bak in bribery probe

Seoul (AFP) – South Korean prosecutors on Tuesday summoned former president Lee Myung-bak for questioning as a criminal suspect in a bribery scandal, a report said. 

“We need to investigate former president Lee for find the truth (over the scandal) in a transparent and effective manner,” Yonhap news agency quoted an unnamed Seoul prosecutor as saying. 

Lee, 76, served as South Korea’s president from 2008 to 2013.
