Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani crushed two more homers off the New York Yankees to move to the top of Major League Baseball’s home run rankings on Tuesday.

The Japanese two-way threat bludgeoned his 27th and 28th home runs of the 2021 season in the early innings at Yankee Stadium to move ahead of Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the home run race.

The 26-year-old pitching and slugging prodigy — who also had a home run in Monday’s game in New York — smashed his first homer of the night off Jameson Taillon in the third inning.

He then drilled a two-run shot off Taillon in the top of the fifth inning which flew 395 feet into right field.

Ohtani has now scored a home run in his last three games, plundering 10 in his last 13 games.

Ohtani’s efforts could not stop the Yankees powerful batting line-up from dominating however. The Bronx Bombers led 10-5 in the fifth inning.
