Stunt drivers take over San Francisco bridge with donut display

SAN FRANCISCO, April 14 (UPI) — Authorities in San Francisco said up to 50 cars were involved in a stunt that saw the Bay Bridge blocked off by stunt drivers doing donuts.

The California Highway Patrol said five cars leading traffic on the Bay Bridge slowed down in a choreographed maneuver in the eastbound lanes just after 6 p.m. Sunday and up to 50 cars then blocked traffic while souped-up vehicles performed a “side show.”

A video posted to Instagram by the Bay Area Movement account shows a black car and a white car doing donuts and squealing their tires in the middle of the bridge.

The CHP said up to 50 cars were involved in the stunt, but it was unclear how many performed donuts or other tricks in the roadway.

The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made, the CHP said.

The display came mere days after a police chase in Los Angeles involved the fleeing suspects performing donuts in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard.
