Tom Daley, Dustin Lance Black expecting first child

Feb. 14 (UPI) — Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black are going to be first-time dads.

The 23-year-old British diver and 43-year-old American screenwriter announced they’re expecting a child in Twitter posts Wednesday on Valentine’s Day.

“Happy Valentines Day,” Daley captioned a photo of himself and Black holding up their unborn baby’s sonogram.

Black shared a similar picture and a sweet message on his own account.

“A very happy #ValentinesDay from ours to yours,” he wrote.

Daley and Black married at Bovey Castle in Devon, England, in May after several years of dating. Black said in an interview with Out in 2016 that he and Daley established early on in their relationship that they both wanted to have children.

“We were so busy making all these plans — we both wanted to have children; we both wanted to build a home of our own someday,” the screenwriter recalled. “Marriage is the foundation to all of these other big plans we have.”

Daley confirmed their desire to have kids in an interview with The Belfast Telegraph published in July.

“Lance and I definitely want a family in the future — who knows when? We’re both lucky to have supportive families and we want to share that with our own children,” he said.

Daley is an Olympic diver who won bronze medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Black is known for writing the films Milk, which he won an Oscar for in 2009, and J. Edgar.
