Trump sees ‘great chance’ to resolve NKorea crisis

Palm Beach (United States) (AFP) – US President Donald Trump Tuesday played up the prospects of resolving the North Korean nuclear standoff, saying America has held top level contacts with Pyongyang in preparation for his landmark summit with Kim Jong Un.

“There is a great chance to solve a world problem,” Trump told reporters as he hosted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at his Florida resort of Mar-a-Lago.

“We have had direct talks at very high levels with North Korea,” added Trump, who earlier revealed “five locations” were being considered for the summit with Kim, expected to take place in early June or before.
