UN Security Council to meet Friday on Gaza violence: diplomat

United Nations (United States) (AFP) – The UN Security Council will hold closed-door talks on Friday about the situation in Gaza, a diplomat said, after clashes erupted as tens of thousands of Gazans marched near the Israeli border in a major protest, leaving 15 Palestinians dead.

The meeting, to be held at the request of Kuwait, will begin at 6:30 pm (2230 GMT), the diplomat said on condition of anonymity.
