UN Security Council to vote on rival US, Russia drafts on Syria

United Nations (United States) (AFP) – The UN Security Council will vote Tuesday on rival US and Russian drafts resolutions in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria, diplomats said.

Russia has presented two proposals on chemical weapons use in Syria while the United States has put forward its own draft resolution setting up an inquiry that would identify the perpetrators.

The vote is scheduled for 3 pm (1900 GMT).
