Abu Dhabi Police Launches Knowledge Charter


WAM Abu Dhabi, 26th Apr. 2014 (WAM) – The Abu Dhabi Police has launched the Knowledge Charter, which includes commitment by all of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s leaders and staff members to achieve the strategic objectives, by investing in information and knowledge and participating in the process of sharing knowledge and expertise on all occupational levels. This approach would embody the concept of knowledge and enhance satisfaction rate of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s customers, partners, and community members, as well as the government’s confidence.




Upon launching the charter, Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate and Chairman of the Knowledge Higher Committee, indicated that the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy focuses on upgrading the standards of strategic work and developing institutional performance to the highest levels.




He also explained the knowledge management methodology at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, which works on documenting the knowledge management process according to the highest standards.




He added: “The general cognitive framework for knowledge management has been established and the types of knowledge at Abu Dhabi Police have been identified and classified, in addition to knowledge sources and the various mechanisms to collect, classify, analyze and update these forms of knowledge.




”Moreover, terms of use have been determined in order to invest in knowledge to improve and develop the General Headquarters’ performance; maintain the intellectual and cognitive assets of the Abu Dhabi Police’s staff members; regulate the exchange of knowledge between employees, customers, and relevant entities in a methodized and coordinated framework; and leverage knowledge to solve work requirements (obstacles-problems); to enhance productivity of staff members and human cadres; to improve their skills and expertise and to explore the best practices.” In conclusion, Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan noted that the results achieved by knowledge management in promoting administrative and security thought among both employees and organizational and security units enhance the strategic objectives and the optimal use of financial, human, administrative and technical resources. They also increase the efficiency of interaction between the concerned organizational units in implementing security duties.
