New York (AFP) – US stocks drifted mostly higher Thursday as oil prices edged lower and financial provided a lift after earnings from Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
As the market closed, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 17,923.83, up 15.55 points (0.09 percent).
The broad-based S&P 500 advanced 0.12 (0.01 percent) at 2,082.54, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.53 (0.03 percent) at 4,945.89.
Stocks spent most of the day modestly above their flat lines. “The risk-on trade is still on!” said Alan Skrainka at Cornerstone Wealth Management.
