New York (AFP) – Wall Street stocks finished solidly higher Wednesday after a rocky start as investors shifted from fearing an imminent US-China trade war to resuming a wait-and-see approach.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 24,266.09, up 1.0 percent.
The broad-based S&P 500 gained 1.2 percent to 2,644.78, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 1.4 percent to 7,041.56.
