WWE NXT: Keith Lee confronts Adam Cole, takes out Finn Balor

Dec. 5 (UPI) — Rising competitor Keith Lee dominated WWE NXT as The Limitless Superstar won another big match and found himself placed into the NXT Championship picture.

NXT Champion Adam Cole, NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and NXT Tag Team Champion Kyle O’Reilly of The Undisputed Era, kicked things off on Wednesday by gloating about the black and gold brand’s dominance at Survivor Series.

Cole referred to his squad as the Iron Men of NXT and lamented how their member Bobby Fish was injured last week. Strong has started to hold onto Fish’s NXT Tag Team Championship while he is away.

Lee then arrived onto the scene and said he was trying to decided which of their championships he wants to take first. A brawl then ensued with Lee able to send The Undisputed Era packing with his impressive strength. Tommaso Ciampa also made an appearance, attacking Cole from behind.

The main event featured Lee and Ciampa teaming with Dominik Dijakovic to take on The Undisputed Era.

The hard-hitting bout fell apart once Finn Balor made a surprise appearance. The Prince drop kicked Cole which took out the referee and then nailed Ciampa with a 1916 DDT before he came face to face with Lee.

Lee took Balor out of the equation with a thunderous Spirit Bomb. Lee then dodged a Last Shot from Cole and used the Jackhammer on the champ to win the match.

NXT General Manager William Regal announced afterwards that Ciampa, Balor and Lee would face each other in a Triple Threat match next week to determine who will face Cole for the NXT Championship on Dec. 18.

Also on WWE NXT, Rhea Ripley decided against a match with Dakota Kai, allowing Mia Yim to attack her instead after Kai’s villainous actions at WarGames which left Tegan Nox injured.

Ripley, while Yim and Kai brawled, was greeted by NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler and her friends Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Ripley, despite her best efforts, was eventually taken out by Baszler’s Kirifuda Clutch with help from Duke and Shafir.

Baszler grabbed a microphone and said she will defend her title against Ripley on Dec. 18.

Other moments from WWE NXT included Killian Dain defeating Pete Dunne; Baszler defeating Xia Li; The Forgotten Sons defeating Adrian Alanis and Leon Ruff; Matt Riddle defeating Kassius Ohno and Kushida defeating Cameron Grimes.
