WWE Raw: Rollins, Balor qualify for Chamber

Feb. 13 (UPI) — The upcoming Elimination Chamber match got even bigger Monday on Raw as both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor qualified for the bout bringing the Superstar total to seven for the first-time ever.

Raw general manager Kurt Angle decided that both men could compete in the match after Rollins and Balor both pinned Bray Wyatt at the same time for a three count during a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine that final Elimination Chamber entrant that also included Woken Matt Hardy and Apollo Crews.

Rollins and Balor now join John Cena, Roman Reigns, Braun Storwman, Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Elias in the Elimination Chamber match set for Feb. 25 that will determine who will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

The Elimination Chamber match takes place inside a steel structure surrounded by pods. Two Superstars begin the bout as the other competitors await their turn to enter the match, leaving the first two entrants at a major disadvantage.

Cena and The Miz faced off in a competitive match to kick-off Raw with the loser having to enter the Elimination Chamber first.

The A-Lister took the fight to the 16-time champion and was able to survive both of Cena’s finishing moves by kicking out of the Attitude Adjustment and reaching the rope while being placed into the STF. Cena would return the favor by kicking out of The Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale and Figure-Four Leglock.

The Miz, wanting to defeat Cena for good, attempted a top-rope Skull Crushing Finale before Cena reversed it and delivered a Super Attitude Adjustment for the victory.

Also on Raw, Strowman confronted Elias by interrupting the guitar player’s rendition of “The Elimination Chamber Blues” by giving his own performance with an orchestra bass. The Monster Among Men, despite breaking the strings of the bass with his bare hands, sang about how he was going to punish Elias before he delivered a Running Powerslam.

As Elias crawled to the back, Strowman chased him down and used his bass as a weapon, smashing it against his rival’s back.

Other moments from Raw included Angle announcing that Ronda Rousey will be signing her Raw contract at the Elimination Chamber event and that his son Jason Jordan received neck surgery that will cause him to miss WrestleMania; The Revival defeating Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson; Bayley defeating Sasha Banks; Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville defeating Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Mickie James; and Roman Reigns defeating Raw Tag Team Champion Sheamus.
