2004 FLASHBACK: Kerry Slams Bush Same Day Seven Servicemen Killed In Iraq

Because dissent is no longer patriotic and the Obama administration made an unbelievable error when our embassy in Cairo doubled down on an apology to Islamists after those Islamists attacked the embassy, both the Democrats and Obama’s Media Palace Guards are now on a full-on rampage to silence Romney and to ensure his perfectly valid criticism of Obama backfires politically.

This is the media at its most craven, where you have the likes of Ben Smith, Chuck Todd, and Mark Halperin exploiting the tragic death of Americans purely for partisan political gain and to maks sure we’re not discussing Obama’s inability to protect our people overseas.

Today, Senator John Kerry joined the Romney slam-a-thon, safe in the knowledge that no media entity would ever call him out on his hypocrisy. For to do so, would only amplify the hypocrisy of a media that had no problem with Bush’s 2004 opponent criticizing him in the wake of a overseas tragedy.

Massachusetts Senator John Kerry,  today, publicly slamming Mitt Romney for daring to criticize Barack Obama:

This is one of those moments when Americans must unite as Americans. It is exactly the wrong time to throw political punches. It is a time to restore calm and proceed wisely.

John Kerry as the Democratic nominee in 2004 while on the campaign trail against George Bush:

Later, addressing a crowd at a picnic in Racine, W.Va., Kerry devoted almost his entire 27-minute address to a critique of Bush. On a day when seven U.S. servicemen were killed in a suicide bombing attack in Iraq, Kerry termed the war in Iraq “catastrophic.” Still later, he referred to it in a statement as “a quagmire,” a word often applied to the U.S. conflict in Vietnam. He also blasted the president’s record on job creation, health care, energy independence and education.

The Washington Post goes on to say that Kerry kept this up all throughout his day of campaigning.

The possibility exists that at the time he was campaigning, Kerry wasn’t yet aware of the tragic death of these seven Marines. But it doesn’t matter, because the day after this Post story ran, Kerry blistered Bush in a speech in Ohio:

But then, George W. Bush made the wrong choices. He himself now admits he miscalculated in Iraq. In truth, his miscalculation was ignoring the advice that was given to him, including the best advice of America’s own military. When he didn’t like what he was hearing, he even fired the Army Chief of Staff. His miscalculation was going to war without taking every precaution and without giving the inspectors time. His miscalculation was going to war without planning carefully and without the allies we should have had. As a result, America has paid nearly 90% of the bill in Iraq. Contrast that with the Gulf War, where our allies paid 95% of the costs.

George W. Bush’s wrong choices have led America in the wrong direction in Iraq and left America without the resources we need here at home. The cost of the President’s go-it-alone policy in Iraq is now $200 billion and counting. $200 billion for Iraq, but they tell us we can’t afford after-school programs for our children. $200 billion for Iraq, but they tell us we can’t afford health care for our veterans. $200 billion for Iraq, but they tell us we can’t afford to keep the 100,000 new police we put on the streets during the 1990s.

Well we’re here today to tell them: they’re wrong. And it’s time to lead America in a new direction.

In the wake of a overseas tragedy, in 2004, Kerry not only had no problem with the idea of publicly hammering a president for what was perceived as a foreign policy blunder, he was the one doing the hammering.

But now that’s wrong, you know, because Barack.

So who’s playing politics here?

That would be Barack Obama and his utterly shameless media minions.
