Report: Dorner May Have Taunted Father of Slain Victim over Phone

Christopher Dorner, who is on the loose after murdering a police officer and two others, may have called the father of one of his victims and taunted him four days after murdering his daughter.

According to court documents ABC News obtained, a man identifying himself as “Dorner” called Randall Quan, the father of Monica Quan on Thursday of last week. Quan is the slain Fullerton women’s basketball coach Dorner reportedly shot along with her fiance, Keith Lawrence last Sunday.

Dorner may have called Quan just 11 hours after he murdered a Riverside, CA police officer.

The man told Quan he “should have done a better job of protecting his daughter.”

The call was traced to Vancouver, Canada, but officials believe the call was not made from Canada.

The comments are eerily similar to what Dorner wrote in his online manifesto in which he alleged Quan, the retired police officer and chief who represented Dorner at an LAPD disciplinary hearing Dorner lost, had the interests of the LAPD over his. 

“I never had an opportunity to have a family of my own, I’m terminating yours,” Dorner chillingly wrote to Quan in the manifesto. 

Quan and Lawrence were found shot to death last Sunday in the couple’s car, which was parked atop the condo complex in which they lived in Irvine, California. On Sunday, the LAPD offered a $1 million reward for information leading to Dorner’s arrest.
