Palin on Christie vs. Paul: I'm on 'Team Rand'

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she is taking Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) side instead of Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s in their recent argument because she claims Paul “gets the whole notion” of  “‘don’t tread on me’ government” while Christie favors more big government.

In an appearance on Cashin In with Eric Bolling on Fox News on Saturday, Palin was asked where she stood on the recent feud between Christie and Paul. In response to Paul’s criticism of President Barack Obama’s National Security Agency spying programs, Christie invoked the 9/11 attacks to say Paul’s foreign policy was “dangerous” and would not keep America safe. Paul attacked Christie as a reckless spender of taxpayer funds and declared a “one-way truce” when Christie rejected Paul’s offer of a beer summit.

Palin also attacked Christie as someone who tries to “go along to get along” and is inauthentic.

The former Alaska governor who is known for “going rogue”–much to the chagrin of the mainstream press and the Republican establishment–and has written a book with the same title laughed at the assertion that Christie was similarly independent-minded.

Palin said Paul has a “healthy libertarian streak we need more of.”
