Palin: Waving White Flag on Obamacare Will Not Help GOP in 2014

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Sunday that surrendering on defunding Obamacare would not help Republicans in the 2014 midterm elections.

Appearing on Fox News with host Shannon Bream, Palin said that the defunding Obamacare fight “will be positive” for Republicans in the 2014 elections and emphasized that the fear of a complete government shutdown was merely the “hysterical cry of the left.” Palin said that parts of the government, like the military, could be funded separately.

Palin, in her exclusive op-ed for Breitbart News, emphasized that House Republicans passed a resolution to fund the government except for Obamacare, and Democrats would actually be shutting down the government if they insist on funding Obamacare after the House passed a resolution that funded the government except for that one bill.

“We ask that they not wave the white flag and capitulate and give in to liberals,” Palin said of Republicans, particularly those who campaigned on repealing and defunding Obamacare. She said that Republicans needed to stand up for Americans who do not want this “socialized program.”

“It’s unaffordable and it’s not going to work for America,” Palin said of Obamacare.
