Woman in Her 60s Shoots, Kills Home Invader

On November 14, a Kansas City woman in her 60s shot and killed an intruder who forced his way into her home and sexually assaulted her.

According to The Kansas City Star, the woman heard a knock at her door after midnight. When she opened the door, a man asked for someone “who didn’t live there before pushing his way inside.” He then “forced the woman into a bedroom” and sexually assaulted her.

Afterwards, he walked into the kitchen. When he left the room, the woman retrieved her revolver and began walking toward the kitchen when the man confronted her again. She shot once and watched him collapse to the floor.

The attacker, Paul J. Williams, was “released from prison last year for one burglary and two robbery convictions”–including charges for an earlier home invasion robbery.
