Man Runs Every Block in Missouri City During 2013

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Jan. 1 (UPI) —
A Missouri man whose 2013 New Year’s resolution was to run every block of every street in his city reached his goal on the last day of the year.

Mike Higgins of Cape Girardeau said he averaged about 15 to 30 miles of running each week and completed his 2013 New Year’s resolution Tuesday by running the last block in the city that he had yet to pass through, KFVS-TV, Cape Girardeau, reported Wednesday.

Higgins, who kept track of his progress by highlighting a city map, said he isn’t sure exactly how many miles he’s run.

Higgins said he found there were several benefits to his running.

Higgins said his resolution for 2014 is to complete a 62-mile run in 12 hours.
