CA State Senator Kevin de Leon Wants Gun Control for Homemade Guns

California state senator Kevin de Leon (D) wants to expand “background checks” and firearm registration to include “homemade guns.”

According to the Associated Press, de Leon wants to “preempt the spread of undetectable guns” by including 3-D printed guns and “any parts that can be assembled into a gun.”

De Leon says he is pushing the broadened regulations to stop “the threat of plastic guns that can slip through metal detectors and… [to prevent] unregistered weapons from… [falling] into the hands of people who are legally prohibited from owning them.”

On December 4th, Breitbart News reported that Congress extended the Undetectable Firearms Act (UFA) for 10 years. De Leon’s proposals go beyond the requirements of the UFA.
