ELYRIA, Ohio, Feb. 18 (UPI) —
Animal rescuers in Ohio said a kitten found covered in ice at the side of a road is recovering from its ordeal.
The Friendship Animal Protective League said a woman found the kitten at the side of an Elyria road around 8:30 a.m. Monday and brought the feline, which was covered in ice and unable to move, to the Friendship APL’s facility, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported Tuesday.
Officials with the rescue group said the kitten began to meow after being brought into a treatment room and doesn’t appear to have suffered frostbite. The male kitten is having trouble opening its eyes due to an upper respiratory issue described as a “kitty cold.”
The kitten, dubbed Frosty by center staff, is expected to recover, officials said.
