Burglar Flees, Leaves Partner Behind When Confronted by Armed Man

On April 1st, an armed Eugene, Oregon resident scared two burglars so badly that one of them ran to the van and drove off without the other.

According to The Register Guard, the resident awoke to sounds around 2 a.m., looked outside, and spotted “a van parked with its headlights on.” He “grabbed a .357 revolver and walked into his entryway…[where he] saw his front door open.”

Two men “stepped into the house” but “ran” after the gun was pointed at them.

Police said, “one of the intruders got back into the van and drove away, leaving his partner behind.”

The resident gave chase to the intruder left behind but was unable to catch him.
