Phone Thieves Send Selfies to Victim After Theft

CRANSTON, R.I., April 8 (UPI) –When a Rhode Island woman had her phone stolen on Saturday night it was bad enough.

Later on, when strange selfies of the suspected thieves began arriving in her inbox, it just added insult to injury.

She decided to do something about it.

The woman took the pictures, which show one teenager posing in a Chicago Bulls shirt, the same teen in a Miami Heat hat and three young men flexing with their shirts off, and posted them on the Cranston Patch Facebook page in an effort to identify the possible thieves.

The theft happened at the Galaxie Restaurant.

This is the post that the victim, Betty Ann, put up on the Cranston Patch Facebookpage:

“Hi CranstoN! Sending these pics of the teen boys who stoLe my phone from GalaXie Restaurant early Saturday evening….they just, I’m sure in error emailed themselves to me….if any of these poor excuse for a son, belong to you or someone you know….take the time to explain the basics of liFe to them. You don’t TAKe from someone you EaRn and Give and in turn will get….or yeah also tell them KaRma returns quicker than you think…its a little early in life for them to be on Karmas bad side. Photos are one at a time….8 all together.”

Most of the photos are tagged with the phrase, “I stole a phone from someone’s mom.”

Although it appears the suspects still haven’t been identified, numerous people are commenting on the story and giving Betty Ann advice about how she can recover her phone.
