Palin to School that Banned Student from Reading Bible: 'Epic Failure'

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin ripped the Broward County School District for allowing a school to ban a fifth grader from reading the Bible during “free reading” time, as Breitbart News reported.

“Epic failure on this one,” Palin wrote in a Facebook post on Monday. “Hopefully concerned citizens will take a stand and tell you exactly that. I predict you’ll be reminded that this is America, and your local taxpayers are sure getting ripped off if your teachers aren’t teaching our Bill of Rights’ guaranteed freedom, but in fact would violate a student’s Constitutional right.”

Palin linked to the Breitbart News story about how lawyers from the Liberty Institute may sue the school for violating fifth-grade student Giovanni Rubeo’s First Amendment rights. Rubeo was reportedly given the Bible for Christmas, and it is his favorite book.

“Your school families deserve much, much better,” Palin wrote. “On the bright side, this may be the most valuable lesson your fifth graders will learn all year.”
