T. Boone Pickens Challenges Obama to Hour Workout to 'Work Out Energy Plan'

T. Boone Pickens challenged President Obama to a one-hour workout session after a video went viral on Wednesday featuring Obama’s exercise routine while on his trip to Warsaw, Poland.

Saying, “My cardio is better,” Pickens, the American business magnate and financier, took to Twitter to issue the challenge. The one-hour cardio exercise would focus attention on Pickens’ new energy plan meant to transition America to a more natural gas-based energy policy.

To prove his stamina, Pickens, 86, attached a video of himself jogging uphill in San Francisco. He tweeted:

The financier is trying to highlight “The Pickens Plan,” his newest national energy proposal. Pickens proposes that the country replace oil with natural gas as its primary source of fuel for transportation. Additionally, Pickens says that the U.S. should upgrade its electrical grid and develop renewable energies like wind and solar. He also suggests that homeowners and businesses be given incentives to make their buildings more energy efficient.

Pickens has asserted that natural gas is much cheaper than diesel, and since we have natural gas in abundance right here in the U.S., we wouldn’t have to import it in great quantities.

“If the president is serious on natural gas and trucking in America, here’s an idea: Lead by example. Sign an executive order mandating government vehicles use natural gas, and that those who contract with the federal government for goods and services do, too,” Pickens said in a Forbes editorial in January.
