Ted Cruz: I'm Committed to Working for a Republican Majority in the Senate

Sen. Ted Cruz reacted to a series of losses from Tea Party-endorsed candidates in the Senate, including Chris McDaniel’s narrow loss to Sen. Thad Cochran in Mississippi and T.W. Shannon’s loss to James Lankford in Oklahoma.

In an emailed statement to Breitbart News, Cruz pointed out that it was “striking” to see both Republican and Democrat incumbents struggling in competitive re-election campaigns, often spending millions to win by a thin margin.

Even though McDaniel lost to Cochran, Cruz said that it was important for incumbent Republicans to be mindful of the conservative movement.

Cruz reminded Tea Party supporters that in spite of their losses, he was committed to helping the Republican party win a majority in the Senate.
