How do Americans view Hillary Clinton’s performance as Secretary of State? Only 42 percent of voters called her performance “excellent or good” in a new Politico poll.
Fifty-three percent view her performance as “fair or poor,” including 60 percent of independents. Only 14 percent of voters responded that her time working for President Obama was excellent. Five percent of respondents were not sure and one percent declined to answer.
The low marks are surprising as Clinton has spent recent weeks promoting her book Hard Choices, which details her time in the Obama administration.
A Washington Post poll last month showed 59 percent approved of her tenure.
