Eric Holder Chokes Up During Farewell To Obama

Attorney General Eric Holder choked up during his farewell speech to President Obama on Thursday, remembering their long time together as friends in the administration.

Holder called his service under Obama the “greatest honor of my professional life” and thanked the President for the opportunity.

Holder and his wife frequently dined with the First Couple and even vacationed with the Obamas on occasion.

Holder also thanked Obama for standing by him throughout the many controversies that occurred at the Department of Justice under his leadership, such as the Fast and Furious scandal and surveilling reporters.

Obama noted that Holder had a “pretty good track record” as Attorney General, referring to his decision to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act and his work in the Civil Rights division, as well as his work reaching multi-billion dollar settlements with bankers.
