Witness to YouTube Shooting: ‘I Didn’t Have a Gun on Me, But I Wish I Did’

A witness to the April 3 shooting at YouTube headquarters talked about bullets whizzing and said he did not have a gun on him, but he wished he did.

Breitbart News reported that the attack resulted in four innocents being injured and the shooter taking her own life.

IJR Red reports that a witness who helped a woman fleeing YouTube headquarters told reporters, “I didn’t have a gun on me, but I wish I did.”

The witness was at the Carl’s Jr. across the street from YouTube when an injured woman ran to the business for help. He recounted hearing the shots, “It didn’t stop. It was no mercy. Whoever shot that time, oh, man. It was massive.”

When asked what was going through his mind, he said, “I know I had to be smart, I had to be fast.” And then he said he wished he had had a gun.

California prohibits law-abiding citizens from carrying guns for self-defense unless the citizen can convince a local sheriff that he has “good  cause” to do so. As a result, the overwhelming majority of Californians live their days without the benefit of a firearm to draw in the event of an emergency.
