NBA Suspends Carmelo Anthony for One Game

The NBA suspended New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony for one game for trying to confront Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett after Monday night’s game between the Knicks and the Celtics. Anthony will serve the suspension, without pay, on Thursday when the Knicks play the Indiana Pacers.

Garnett and Anthony exchanged heated words on the court during Monday’s contest. After the game, Anthony went into the Celtics locker room and reportedly yelled at Garnett. Later, Anthony then waited by the Celtics team bus to confront Garnett. Knicks coach Mike Woodson had to restrain Anthony.

On Tuesday, Anthony said he did not believe his actions would warrant a fine or a suspension.
