Here are the top 16 All-Conference basketball teams. The 160 players on this list have beaten up on other conferences to push their conference’s ranking as high as possible so that as many teams as possible make the NCAA tournament to get the conference more than $1 million per bid and per game won once in the tournament.
The Value Add Basketball system for ranking each player will first be revealed here at Breitbart Sports, and then appear on www.valueaddbasketball.com within 48 hours. Before running through the 10 best players on each of the top 16 conferences, I have to give honorable mentions to the Summit League for one of the best in Nate Wolters (25th best player in the US, South Dakota St.) and one of the top duos in Ceola Clark and Terell Parks from Western Illinois. Also, kudos to the Ivy League for having five teams represented with players among the top 10% (Ian Hummer Princeton, Brian Barbour Columbia, Shonn Miller Cornell and Wesley Saunders, Laurent Rivard and Siyani Chambers of Harvard).
However, the following “Sweet 16” conferences are even deeper and this is where we believe they would finish if each team fielded an All-Conference team and played the 32 basketball conferences. 16. Mid American Conference Zeke Marshall takes Akron to another level and gives them a slight edge over last year’s tournament darling Ohio. Both teams could make the NCAA this year.

1. Big East The Big East is having a great curtain call as the talk has moved to the Catholic 7 starting next year. The All-Conference team nudges out the Big Ten and ACC in Value Add by a tiny margin, though in fact the 6-foot-9 Jack Cooley from Notre Dame might have trouble in a real matchup with this line-up since the other five starters would all be 6-foot-1 or smaller. in practice, they would have to get Syracuse’s Michael Carter-Williams and perhaps Marquette’s big man Davante Gardner (290 pounds, 84% from the line)in some mix with all the great guards on the court. Watch out for Peyton Siva, who last year hung around in the top 200 before kicking into high gear for the tournaments. He forms a deadly duo with Russ Smith, who some consider a Player of the Year prospect.
