Streak Over: Blackhawks Lose First Game in Regulation in 320 Days

The streak is over.

The Chicago Blackhawks lost in regulation for the first time in 24 games this season and 30 games, dating back to last season, when the Colorado Avalanche defeated them 6-2 in Colorado on Friday.

Chicago was playing their third game in four nights, and had defeated Colorado at home on Wednesday in dramatic fashion, with the game-winning goal coming with less than a minute to play in regulation.

This was Chicago’s first loss in 320 days. The Blackhawks are now 21-1-3 on the season.

The previous record, which Chicago broke, for most games without a loss in regulation to start an NHL season was 16. The all-time NHL record for most consecutive games without a loss in regulation is 35, which was set by the 1979-80 Philadelphia Flyers.
