NFL Draft First Round Most Watched Cable Program

The first round of the NFL Draft was the most-watched cable television program on Thursday night, with over 20 million people watching the draft coverage on ESPN and the NFL Network.

According to Nielsen, the “combined average for ESPN and NFL Network was 7.7 million, almost doubling the History Channel’s “Swamp People” (4 million viewers), the next-most watched cable program on Thursday.”

In an age where the media is becoming more fragmented, live sports programming continues to draw monster ratings.
