Mark Buehrle got his second win of the year, beating Tim Hudson and the Braves 9-3 Monday night.
The Blue Jays improved to only 14-15 at home with the win. Edwin Encarnacion homered and drove in five runs, JP Arencibia homered, and Colby Rasmus of the Jays homered off his brother Cory Rasmus, a reliever for the Braves.
Baltimore 6, Washington 2
Gio Gonzalez gave up eight hits and walked four in taking the loss for the homestanding Nationals, who were beaten by Jason Hammel and the Orioles 6-2 Monday afternoon.
Hammel shut down the Nationals, yielding only two runs over eight innings. The Nationals played their second straight game without Bryce Harper, who sat out with Bursitis.
Boston 9, Philadelphia 3
Alfredo Aceves (2-1) held the Phillies to one run over six innings, as the Red Sox pounded Tyler Cloyd (1-1) and the Phillies, 9-3.
Boston jumped out to an early lead on the Phillies, with homers by Dustin Pedroia and Mike Napoli in the first inning. Erik Kratz and Domonic Brown homered in the loss for the Phillies.
NY Mets 2, NY Yankees 1
Daniel Murphy made a hard-luck loser out of the Yankees’ David Robertson (3-1) with an eighth inning RBI single, as the Mets beat the Yankees 2-1 Monday.
David Wright also homered for the Mets, who will pitch Matt Harvey against the injury-depleted Yankees Tuesday.
Tampa Bay 10, Miami 6
Kelly Johnson homered twice and had six RBIs for the Rays, who nearly squandered a six-run lead but came back to beat the Marlins 10-6 in Tampa.
Rookie Jose Fernandez (2-3) took the loss with a six-run second inning. Jake Odorizzi also gave up six runs but couldn’t get through the fifth to qualify for the win. Jake McGee got the win after pitching two scoreless innings of relief for the Rays.
