Tiger Woods said Sergio Garcia did not apologize for his “fried chicken” remarks when the two briefly shook hands at Merion Golf Club on Monday.
At a press conference on Tuesday before the U.S. Open, the world’s top-ranked golfer said he “didn’t discuss anything ” with Garcia.
“He came up and said, ‘hi,’ and that was it,” Woods said.
When asked if Garcia personally apologized to him, Woods said, “We haven’t had time for that.”
“It’s already done,” Woods said.
Woods and the mercurial Spaniard have feuded since the Players Championship, and that feud escalated when Garcia, during a European Tour awards dinner, said that if he ever invited Woods over for dinner, he would serve him “fried chicken.”
