Aaron Hernandez’s girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins is now a target in the murder case of Odin Lloyd, her sister’s boyfriend. Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder.
Investigators searched a storage unit rented under her name because surveillance video, text messages, and an interview with her sister led them to believe Jenkins knows what happened to the gun used in the shooting. From ESPN:
The documents say Hernandez called Jenkins the day after Lloyd’s body was found because he wanted to dispose of weapons in the house.
Footage from June 18, according to records, shows Jenkins leaving the house in the afternoon, carrying a trash bag, which authorities say contains a heavy “rigid object,” resembling a lock box or safe. After putting the bag in the trunk of the car, Jenkins later returned and opened the trunk of the car, which no longer held the trash bag and “rigid object,” the records show.
Another suspect, Carlos Ortiz, told police Hernandez hid guns in his basement in North Attleborough, MA. They searched a Bristol pond for five-days when someone told them the murder weapon was discarded.
