Air Jordan Shoe Leads to Another Shooting

Two Christmases ago, the Air Jordan XI Retro Concords (see photo) caused police to respond to fights from New York to Washington, and last Christmas a Houston man was fatally shot when his Air Jordan’s were robbed. Now the release of the Air Jordan 4, called the  “Green Glow,” has led to a shooting in Las Vegas.

Jordan shoes often get $400 on the streets once stores run out.

“You know how people will line up the day before a shoe is released?” Lt. Ken Romane, a Las Vegas police spokesman, said to the Las Vegas Review Journal. “Well, that’s apparently what happened, and somebody got into a fight with somebody else and somebody was shot.”

The Las Vegas man remained in critical but stable condition at University Medical Center on Saturday night after getting shot multiple times while waiting in line at Meadows mall for the new release of a Michael Jordan high-top tennis shoe.

Just before Christmas the New York Daily News documented pepper spray being used, riots and arrests.
