Baltimore Orioles star Manny Machado was rushed to hospital after suffering an apparent serious leg injury in the seventh inning of a game against Tampa Bay.
Machado, 21, was taken off the field on a medical cart Monday after he stepped awkwardly and had his left knee buckle while running to first base.
Machado had gone two-for-four with a run scored prior to departing.
Baltimore had a 4-2 lead at the time of Machado’s injury, but the Rays rallied for a 5-4 victory to send the Orioles to a fifth straight loss.
