NYPD-FDNY Charity Game Marred by Bench Clearing Fight

Every year, FDNY and NYPD play a friendly game of hockey for charity. Well, it is usually friendly. The 2014 game was something right out of the movie Goon or a minor league hockey game.

Tied 2-2 in the second period, the gloves dropped and the benches cleared. The fiasco caused a 25-minute delay and the officials had to sort out the penalties. Despite chants of “PD sucks,” the NYPD won 8-5.

Here are a few photos and videos from the event courtesy of Deadspin.
