Indianapolis authorities have charged Colts backup linebacker Josh McNary with rape. The criminal charges come just days before the team takes on the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
Colts statement on McNary: We are aware that there has been a report about Josh McNary, but unfortunately that’s the limit of our knowledge.

Despite circumstances suggesting speak-no-evil spin, the statement seems rooted in fact.
The Josh McNary news obviously caught the Colts off guard. He was seen walking around the locker room during the media portion today.

McNary played as the career sacks leader at West Point before serving two years in the Army. In two seasons with the Colts, the reserve player accumulated 26 tackles and a half quarterback sack. Though he plays in the NFL, McNary serves in the National Guard.
The victim alleges that she scratched the linebacker, whom she didn’t know, all over before he raped her. By stealing her alleged assailant’s phone, the woman was able to lead police back to his apartment. McNary allegedly told the arresting officers: “I know why you’re here.”
