School districts all over Kansas City are canceling school on Tuesday, when the Kansas City Royals will have their World Series victory parade after winning the franchises’s first World Series in 30 years.

A writer for the Big Lead received “an automated call announcing that school has been canceled for tomorrow” also “got the following e-mail from the Blue Springs school district (located about 12 miles east of Kauffman Stadium)”:

After careful consideration the Blue Springs School District will cancel classes on Tuesday, November 3rd. It is clear that the excitement surrounding our World Series Champions and their celebration in the middle of the day will disrupt school and the quality of learning. The school day will be rescheduled on a date to be determined.

Grain Valley Schools sent out this note:

There is no school tomorrow, November 3 due to the Royals World Series championship parade and rally. There will be no Valley Kids program tomorrow. We will make up the day as we would a snow day later in the school year.
