Philadelphia 76ers Win NBA Draft Lottery

The Philadelphia 76ers insignia came up a winner among the 250 ping-pong balls in the NBA Draft Lottery.

“I think we’re at a stage when we’re now going to jump into a new era,” 76ers coach Brett Brown noted before the revelation of the draft order.

The lottery winner faces a choice between forwards Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingraham. With no consensus top pick, Philadelphia decides between an excellent defender and shooter who perhaps lacks NBA heft in Duke’s Ingraham or an outstanding ball handler/passer/rebounder but a questionable shooter in LSU’s Simmons.

The 76ers entered Tuesday evening enjoying the best chance of landing the top pick at 27 percent. The rest of the draft order followed where the records of the initial pick holder suggested they would. Here’s the no-surprises order for the 2016 NBA Draft:

14. Chicago Bulls
13. Phoenix Suns
12. Utah Jazz
11. Orlando Magic
10. Milwaukee Bucks
9. Toronto Raptors
8. Sacramento Kings
7. Denver Nuggets
6. New Orleans Pelicans
5. Minnesota Timberwolves
4. Phoenix Suns
3. Boston Celtics
2. Los Angeles Lakers
1. Philadelphia 76ers
