Brittney Griner got another dunk for the Baylor fans seeing her at home for the last time. Then added two more for good measure.

The 6-foot-8 Griner had her second dunk in this NCAA tournament, with a one-handed slam in the first half Tuesday night against Florida State. She added two more dunks in a span of 1:19 in the second half right before coming out of the game.

When Griner came out with 6:06 left, and Baylor up 78-36, she hugged coach Kim Mulkey and picked the coach up off the ground in an extended embrace. Fans gave Griner a huge ovation and she responded by raising both arms toward the crowd.

She had 33 points and 22 rebounds when she came out of the game.

Following a Florida State basket, Griner’s first dunk came on the break. Freshman guard Niya Johnson threw a pass ahead to Griner, who took one step without a dribble before slamming it home with 4 minutes left in the first half for a 43-18 lead.

Only six other women have ever dunked in a college game. That group had 15 dunks combined, three less than Griner’s career total.

The most by anyone else was the seven by Tennessee’s Candace Parker. Griner has 11 in her senior season.
