Gay Lobby Puts Six U.S. Bishops On Hate List

Six U.S. Bishops are sufficiently principled to earn a place on a hate list published by the GLAAD gay lobby, just prior to Pope Francis’ visit to the United States. Through its guide, GLAAD hopes to dictate to the media which terms to use and which to avoid in discussing homosexuality, as well as pointing out possible “pitfalls” in reporting on LGBT Catholics. It also suggests a series of story lines and angles to take in reporting to highlight the positive sight of LGBT life.

The archbishop went on to explain that while nearly all Catholic dioceses in the United States – including his own – spend far more time and talent on providing social services to the poor rather than on opposing abortion, the fact remains that “children need to survive the womb before they can have needs like food, shelter, immigration counseling and good health care.”

In a statement Monday, the archbishop likened the decision to the principle of “truth in advertising,” saying that schools describing themselves as Catholic “take on the responsibility of teaching and witnessing the Catholic faith in a manner true to Catholic belief. There’s nothing complicated or controversial in this. It’s a simple matter of honesty.”
