With a Republican Senate in charge as of January of this year, national pro-life groups were confident of a swift passage of the Pain-Capable bill in the House once again, and likely approval by the Senate. After a three-month delay since the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act was pulled from the House floor, leaders say it is time to vote on it.

National pro-life organizations are again calling upon House leadership to vote on a bill that would ban late-term abortions past the fifth month of pregnancy, just as a memo to Republicans from House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) does not include the bill in the February agenda.
