YouTube suspended the investigative reporting channel Full Measure News, pulling down the entire account and all of its videos last night without specific reason.

The independent news channel was launched by former CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, who is renowned for her tireless pursuits of stories that have been abandoned by the mainstream media.

Attkisson detailed the events in a series of tweets last night:

Despite what happened, Attkisson made light of the situation, stating how the news was too strong for YouTube to handle.

Earlier today, Attkisson’s channel was restored, and she tweeted that YouTube claimed it had been taken down “in error”:

But in a world where YouTube frequently censors and removes channels and videos that are even remotely politically or socially challenging, and has a ‘hate speech’ takedown partnership with German law enforcement, it is hard to imagine that the removal of politically-risqué Attkisson’s channel was quite the mistake it’s being made out to be.
