Foreign Minors Reportedly Being Released onto US Soil 'by the Hundreds'

Federal facilities remain overwhelmed as thousands of children–most from Central America–cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally each day. Amid the situation, which has been labeled a “humanitarian crisis,” it has been revealed that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is releasing the illegal immigrant children “by the hundreds.”

An unnamed HHS official reportedly told the Daily Mail that authorities attempt to locate family members in the U.S. for each migrant child. Immigrants are apparently released once a relative is located.

According to the source, authorities are not being diligent in ensuring that the located relatives are legal U.S. residents. The primary focus of HHS appears to be clearing space in facilities for new young immigrants.

The official said, “I know they’re more concerned with clearing the caseload than with the immigration status of the adult sponsors…to bottom-line it, would you rather see these kids in glorified warehouses or reunited with a family member who doesn’t belong here?”

It’s not just the children migrants who are being released–many convicted criminal illegal immigrants also slip through the cracks. As Breitbart Texas previously reported, 36,000 previously convicted criminal illegal immigrants were set free onto U.S. soil in 2013 alone.

It is unclear what the Obama Administration’s long term plan for the border crisis is.

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officials have refused to shed light on the situation as they have been ordered not to relay information to reporters. When asked about the status of the thousands of children who have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally this year, Tucson Border Patrol spokesman Bryan Flowers told Breitbart Texas that due to orders from Washington, D.C. “we cannot give out those details.”

The flow of illegal immigrants at the border is not likely to stop anytime soon. World of mouth has spread to Central America that hundreds of migrants are receiving what is perceived to be “amnesty,” which has prompted more hopefuls to make the journey into the U.S. illegally.

Upon arrival in the U.S., the illegal immigrants are provided with taxpayer subsidized housing, food, education, health care, recreation, vocational training, family unification, and even legal counsel. Many are concerned that providing such resources will encourage more foreign nationals to enter the U.S. illegally. Despite this Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson insists that the policies being applied to handle the border crisis are not “encouraging illegal immigration in any way, shape, or form.”

All the while, President Obama has attempted to portray himself as having a tough stance on immigration. According to the Daily Mail, illegal immigration deportations under Obama have “spiked to new highs.” That fact is misleading, however, since the total number of illegal immigrants entering the country has increased significantly.

Additionally, “changes in terminology” has allowed the administration to classify cases where migrants are stopped at the border and ordered to turn back as “deportations.”

“Actual expulsions of people who have crossed the border unlawfully and then settled in America’s interior are down more than 40 per cent since Obama’s first year in office,” The Daily Mail reported. “The resulting contradiction allows Obama to publicly embrace a tough-on-immigration image while privately assuring his Latino constituency that he means to allow more Mexican and Central American aliens to stay with each passing year.”
